Tap that Bounce budget by oldguymtg

Format: Commander

Commander: Gadwick, the Wizened

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Gadwick, the Wizened is a mono-blue tempo/control commander built around cheap Wizards, counterspells, and bounce spells. The primary plan is to resolve an early Baral or Talrand, refill with Gadwick's enters-trigger, then turn every instant and sorcery into flying Drake/Bird tokens. The commander's tap-down ability keeps blockers, planeswalkers, or pieces of opposing combos offline while the token army grows. Interaction is almost entirely instant-speed, and the deck plays draw-go until it can cast Cyclonic Rift and attack for lethal. There is no compact infinite combo; a Hullbreaker Horror with Sol Ring acts as a powerful value engine, and the alternate route is an overloaded Rift followed by a wide crackback.
