Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Rakdos Dragon-Equipment deck uses Smaug the Impenetrable as an indestructible, hasty voltron threat that turns noncombat damage into Treasure. You accelerate with Treasure makers and equip Smaug with Swords, Helm of the Host, and protection pieces to pressure the table while building mana. Secondary paths use that Treasure mana with Neheb, Mana Geyser, and Goldspan Dragon to fire Crackle with Power, Exsanguinate, or Torment of Hailfire for a non-combat close. Smaug also enables Blasphemous Act and Desolation of Smaug as one-sided wipes that leave him alive and generate Treasures. Goldspan Dragon and Professional Face-Breaker act as hidden engines when Smaug is unavailable.
