MMMM Treasures... by MrMagicTurtle

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Rakdos treasure-matters deck is helmed by Smaug the Impenetrable, an 8/7 indestructible dragon with haste. The primary plan is to damage Smaug repeatedly, generating a flood of Treasure tokens that fuel a wide array of payoff cards. The deck deploys ping-pong effects on the commander to create its tokens, then uses those Treasures to cast explosive spells (Crackle with Power), trigger incremental damage from Mayhem Devil and the Reckless Fireweaver/Ingenious Artillerist suite, or simply assemble the alternate win conditions of Revel in Riches (10 Treasures) and Hellkite Tyrant (20 artifacts). The commander's indestructibility and haste allow it to attack immediately, becoming a damage-prepped engine that can turn a single Self-Destruct or Blazing Sunsteel activation into a table-wide kill.
