Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Aristocrats strategy centered on Marchesa, the Black Rose. It leverages the dethrone mechanic and +1/+1 counter synergies to create a resilient, recurring creature loop. When creatures with +1/+1 counters die, Marchesa returns them to the battlefield at the beginning of the next end step. By combining free sacrifice outlets like Ashnod's Altar and Carrion Feeder with ETB counter distributors and death-trigger payoffs, the deck generates compounding card advantage and board presence. Win conditions center on direct damage loops with Flayer of the Hatebound and Syr Konrad, the Grim, or unblockable lethal swings via Herald of Secret Streams. While vulnerable to mass exile and graveyard hate, the deck boasts strong natural recursion, efficient interaction, and an asymmetric sweeper suite that breaks board stalls with ease.
