Commander: Sauron, Lord of the Rings

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis control and graveyard-centric battlecruiser strategy built around Sauron, Lord of the Rings. The deck aims to spend the early turns developing mana through artifact ramp, filling the graveyard with cycling creatures and looting spells, and managing opposing boards with sweepers. In the mid to late game, the deck transitions into generating value with amass triggers and reanimating high-impact threats. Sauron serves as an eight-mana top-end engine that immediately rebuilds the board by amassing a 5/5 Orc Army, milling cards, and reanimating a creature. Victory is achieved through overwhelming combat damage from massive Orc armies, reanimated dragons, and mass recursion spells like Living Death.
