Deck overview

This Orzhov deck is helmed by Syr Vondam, Sunstar Exemplar, focusing on an Aristocrats and token swarm strategy that weaponizes both life gain and creature deaths. The deck generates a steady stream of tokens using cards like Adeline, Resplendent Cathar, Ophiomancer, Dreadhorde Invasion, and Thalisse, Reverent Medium. These tokens feed aristocrat engines such as Bastion of Remembrance, Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, Corpse Knight, and Marauding Blight-Priest while steadily inflating Syr Vondam, Sunstar Exemplar. If removed at 4 or more power, the commander retaliates by destroying key opposing permanents. Defensive cards like Ghostly Prison and Authority of the Consuls slow down aggressive opponents while Grand Crescendo and Selfless Spirit shield the board from sweepers. With no infinite combos or tutors, the deck relies on dense synergy, repeatable card draw, and sustained table-wide life drain to grind down opponents by turn 8.
