Deck overview

The deck uses Ezuri, Claw of Progress to turn low-power creatures into experience counters and then places those counters on a growing threat. Its main finish is the two-card combo of Ezuri, Claw of Progress and Sage of Hours. With five experience counters, each beginning-of-combat trigger gives Sage of Hours enough counters to take another turn, allowing the process to repeat without additional mana. The deck also has a fair counters plan using Fathom Mage, Master Biomancer, Rishkar, Peema Renegade, Simic Ascendancy, and proliferate creatures. Mana development is reasonable but not fast, and many lands and rocks enter tapped. The main weaknesses are singleton access to Sage of Hours, limited protection, and a thin interaction package. Once the combo is active, the deck can take unlimited turns, but it usually needs several combats or extra development to convert that control into a reliable three-player kill.
