Deck overview

This Izzet deck is a classic spellslinger control and combo build headed by Niv-Mizzet, Parun. The strategy leverages low-cost cantrips, cost reducers, and countermagic to control the board and generate card advantage. Once Niv-Mizzet enters the battlefield on Turn 6, it converts every spell cast across the table into card draw and targeted ping damage. The primary win condition combines Niv-Mizzet with Tandem Lookout to trigger an infinite draw-and-damage loop that burns out all three opponents in a single turn. In games where the primary combo is contested, redundant burn permanents such as Guttersnipe, Fiery Inscription, and Erebor Flamesmith, alongside token generators like Talrand, Sky Summoner, allow the deck to pivot smoothly into an aggressive spell-chaining finish backed by a dense defensive interaction suite.
