Format: Commander

Commander: Sauron, the Dark Lord

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Sauron, the Dark Lord is the deck's engine: his ward taxes removal, his opponent-spell trigger grows the Army in multiplayer, and each Ring temptation can discard the hand and draw four. The primary plan is to cast Sauron on time, create an Orc Army with amass effects, and win through an enormous Army plus Sauron's commander damage, supported by a Wraith token subtheme led by Lord of the Nazgul. A secondary path uses Sauron, Lord of the Rings and Reanimate to cheat out large threats, and In the Darkness Bind Them can steal all opposing creatures for a final swing. There is no hidden commander, but Lord of the Nazgul and Sauron, Lord of the Rings act as alternate threats.
