Deck overview

This mono-green deck centers on Kona, Rescue Beastie, using its Survival ability to bypass mana costs and drop enormous permanents directly onto the battlefield during the second main phase. The list is packed with low-cost utility creatures and lands that can tap Kona without risking it in combat, such as Springleaf Drum, Jaspera Sentinel, and Holdout Settlement. Once Kona triggers on Turn 3 or 4, it cheats game-ending behemoths like Worldspine Wurm, Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant, and Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus into play. The deck quickly refills its hand using power-based draw spells like Greater Good and Rishkar's Expertise, cascading into additional threats. Efficient 1-mana protection spells defend Kona against spot removal, allowing the deck to overwhelm the table with massive trample damage across Turns 5 and 6.
