Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a mono-black aristocrats deck helmed by Ayara, First of Locthwain. The plan is to flood the board with tokens and recursive creatures, then convert every death into life drain, cards, and mana. Ayara, First of Locthwain is both a drain engine (ETB pings from black creatures) and a repeatable sac-draw outlet, but the 99 carries a deep web of independent aristocrat loops-Gravecrawler, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, Nether Traitor, Reassembling Skeleton, and multiple drain payoffs-so the deck is not a pure commander combo. Primary wins are infinite sacrifice loops that drain the table via Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Bastion of Remembrance, Marionette Apprentice, Mirkwood Bats, or The Meathook Massacre. Secondary paths include big Gray Merchant of Asphodel swings, Bolas's Citadel life-total pressure, and attrition locks with Grave Pact plus token engines. Mana is dense (Cabal Coffers, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, Crypt Ghast, K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth) and the curve is low enough to assemble by the midgame.
