The Lonely Mountain by Sable

Format: Commander

Commander: Thorin Oakenshield

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Thorin Oakenshield leads a midrange Boros Dwarf-tribal deck that wins by turning a crowd of legendary Dwarves sideways with equipment and anthem support. The primary plan is to build an enduring story with three artifacts/legendaries/sagas, then use treasure generation and double-strike outlets-Dain Ironfoot or Gimli of the Glittering Caves-to convert a wide board into lethal combat damage. Secondary paths include storied payoffs like Balin, Loremaster and Dain of the Ancient Halls, which spread damage to all opponents, and equipment recursion from Forge Anew. Thorin Oakenshield is a cheap enabler and protection piece rather than the finisher. There is no hidden commander; Thorin, King of Durin's Folk and Dain Ironfoot are the true linchpins.
