Deck overview

This Mardu deck is helmed by Kaalia of the Vast, focusing on aggressively deploying overwhelming flying threats—chiefly Demons, Angels, and Dragons—directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. By accelerating mana on the opening turns with artifacts like Arcane Signet and Orzhov Signet, the deck seeks to cast Kaalia on Turn 4 and attack on Turn 5. Cheating in catastrophic threats such as Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, Rakdos the Defiler, or Scourge of the Throne rapidly pressures opponent life totals and disrupts opposing boards. Secondary engines include Demon and sacrifice synergies with Mayhem Devil, Raphael, Fiendish Savior, and Demonic Covenant, alongside graveyard recursion through Victimize and Dread Return. While the deck possesses explosive combat damage and strong single-target removal, its linear reliance on a fragile 2/2 commander without dedicated protection leaves it susceptible to well-timed spot removal.
