Deck overview

Grandmother Goby is the engine of a mono-blue Merfolk deck that turns her puzzling trigger into a swarm factory. Whenever you cast a noncreature spell, she counters it and creates an equal number of 1/1 Merfolk tokens. The deck leans into that by running uncounterable spells and effects like Benevolent Geist, so key pieces resolve while still producing tokens. Two win paths exist: an evasive, lord-powered token army, and a Wanderwine Prophets/Deeproot Pilgrimage extra-turn lock that eventually chokes the table. Svyelun, Kopala, and Thryx protect the board, while counterspells keep the stack safe. It's a synergy-heavy combo/beatdown hybrid that rewards careful sequencing.
