Deck overview

This Dimir Horror deck, led by Captain N'ghathrod, uses a mill-and-reanimation strategy to grind opponents down and steal their libraries' best creatures. The primary plan is to deploy evasive Horrors so their combat damage mills cards, then use N'ghathrod's end-step trigger to reanimate artifact or creature cards milled that turn. Secondary paths include direct mill spells like Nemesis of Reason or Dread Summons, and midrange Horror beatdown with flying or unblockable threats. N'ghathrod also functions as a graveyard thief, but the deck is not fully dependent on it. The companion Gyruda, Doom of Depths is excluded because many cards have odd mana values, so it cannot be legally used as a companion.
