Deck overview

Garland, Royal Kidnapper is a dimir theft deck that wins by taking opponents' permanents and attacking with a buffed borrowed board. The primary plan makes an opponent the monarch, steals their best creature, and layers permanent theft from Bribery, Agent of Treachery, Breach the Multiverse, and reanimation spells. Secondary paths use clone effects and the back face of Mirror Room // Fractured Realm to double enter-the-battlefield triggers, and Gisa, Glorious Resurrector plus Gyruda provide graveyard armies. The commander is both a mid-game engine and a mini-anthem for stolen creatures. The deck has no deterministic combo and depends on incremental combat. Of the modal room's two faces, Fractured Realm is the more important: it doubles Garland's steal trigger and other value ETBs.
