Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Golgari stompy build engineered around The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride. The strategy focuses on curving out efficient, high-power creatures and warp spells that can saddle Gitrog the turn it enters. Because Gitrog has both haste and trample, it attacks on turn 5, sacrifices its saddle companion upon dealing combat damage, and draws an enormous burst of cards while ramping multiple lands directly onto the battlefield. This massive resource explosion allows the deck to flood the board with colossal threats like Tyrranax Rex, Ancient Stone Idol, and Phyrexian Triniform on turn 6. Payoffs such as Psychosis Crawler and Iridescent Vinelasher turn massive card draw and land drops into direct table-wide life loss, accelerating a lethal combat finish by turn 7. While the deck possesses resilient combat protection, it relies heavily on natural draws to establish its early curve.
