Deck overview

Grixis Sauron deck built around Sauron, the Dark Lord as a cast-trigger/amass engine: every opponent spell makes an Orc Army, and Army damage ramps into Ring tempts that trade your hand for four cards. The primary plan is to accelerate into Sauron, build a huge Army, then use Isengard Unleashed with extra combat (Scourge of the Throne) or commander damage to eliminate players one at a time. Secondary lines use reanimation (Reanimate, Living Death, Victimize) to cheat Sauron, Lord of the Rings and other big dragons, and a Hullbreaker Horror + Sol Ring + mana rock loop with Saruman, the White Hand can make an arbitrarily large Army. The commander is the draw engine; the deck remains functional but slower without him.
