Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Lifegain Combo-Control deck commanded by Oloro, Ageless Ascetic. It leverages Oloro's eminence ability to gain 2 life on every upkeep from the command zone without ever needing to cast him. This passive life buffer fuels a wide array of lifegain-triggered engines, growing creatures like Voice of the Blessed and Karlov of the Ghost Council, drawing cards through Rhystic Study and Exemplar of Light, and taxing opponents via Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Kambal, Consul of Allocation, and Opposition Agent. The deck controls the board using premier removal spells including Swords to Plowshares, Cyclonic Rift, Toxic Deluge, and Farewell. It converts this incremental advantage into decisive victories through compact infinite combos, primarily Heliod, Sun-Crowned with Walking Ballista and Exquisite Blood with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or Enduring Tenacity, as well as high-impact bombs like Bolas's Citadel and Aetherflux Reservoir.
