Format: Commander

Commander: Shilgengar, Sire of Famine

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Shilgengar, Sire of Famine is an Orzhov reanimator/aristocrats commander who turns sacrifices into Blood tokens and then spends six Blood to mass-reanimate the graveyard. The deck's primary plan is to use Buried Alive, Final Parting, or Vile Entomber to stockpile drain and Angel creatures, bank Blood with Shilgengar and Voldaren Bloodcaster, and trigger Corpse Knight, Marauding Blight-Priest, and Dazzling Angel when everything returns. If the drain is not lethal, Angel beatdown with Lyra Dawnbringer, Sephara, and Herald of the Host closes. Voldaren Bloodcaster // Bloodbat Summoner is the hidden engine, adding Blood on each nontoken death and later converting Blood to Bats. Shilgengar is both the sac engine and the finisher.
