Deck overview

Blech, Loafing Pest leads a Golgari midrange deck combining lifegain triggers with typal +1/+1 counter distribution across Pests, Bats, Insects, Snakes, and Spiders. The deck ramps on Turn 2, casts Blech on Turn 3, and deploys recurring lifegain enablers like Essence Warden, Bogwater Lumaret, or Eumidian Terrabotanist on Turn 4 to grow its board. Token generators such as Iridescent Hornbeetle, Blight Mound, and Arasta of the Endless Web generate a wide board that scales with every lifegain instance. By Turn 6, the deck presents an overwhelming combat threat supported by evasion enablers like Duskshell Crawler and Hagra Constrictor. It closes games on Turn 7 through massive combat damage or non-combat drain from Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. Defensively, low-cost protection spells guard key permanents against destroy sweepers, though the plan remains reliant on untapping with creature permanents.
