Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages Blech, Loafing Pest to convert repeatable lifegain triggers into team-wide +1/+1 counters across tribal subtypes including Pests, Bats, Insects, Snakes, and Spiders. Early turns establish mana and incremental lifegain permanents like Essence Warden and Bogwater Lumaret. Once Blech enters on Turn 4, token generators such as Iridescent Hornbeetle, Scute Swarm, and Beledros Witherbloom create wide boards that expand exponentially with +1/+1 counters whenever life is gained. The deck applies lethal pressure around Turn 6, closing games through overwhelming combat damage bolstered by Duskshell Crawler or Root Manipulation, supplemented by passive drain from Mirkwood Bats, Dina, Soul Steeper, and Bastion of Remembrance. The list boasts versatile removal and strong recursive resilience, though it remains vulnerable to sweepers due to limited dedicated protection spells.
