Thranduil, the Elvenking

Format: Commander

Commander: Thranduil, the Elvenking

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is an Elven-legend deck that plays like a Simic value engine hiding behind a Sultai commander. Thranduil, the Elvenking is the main draw engine and toolbox: his first ability lets him borrow the activated abilities of Elves in the graveyard, turning discarded Elves like Elvish Archdruid, Elvish Piper, and Realm Seekers into mana and utility effects, while his second ability turns every other legendary Elf into a two-card draw spell. The 99 is packed with Lord of the Rings council cards such as Galadriel, Elven-Queen, Elrond of the White Council, and Erestor of the Council, which trigger the deck's voting payoffs and feed the legendary count. The deck wins primarily by going wide with Elf tokens and finishing with a giant Overwhelming Stampede turn or a Genesis Wave board dump. It has no fast infinite combo; the plan is incremental value, board development, and one massive combat finish.
