Deck overview

This deck is a specialized Izzet control and resource denial deck commanded by Jhoira of the Ghitu. The strategy aims to resolve early asymmetric stax pieces like Blood Moon, Back to Basics, Winter Orb, and Winter Moon to freeze opposing mana bases. Once the table is slowed down, Jhoira cheats massive Eldrazi titans and catastrophic board wipes into exile with suspend counters for just two mana. After four turns of upkeep, spells like Obliterate and Decree of Annihilation wipe all opposing lands and permanents, while threats such as Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, and Void Winnower enter the battlefield with haste to close out the game against resource-starved opponents. The deck protects its setup using efficient counterspells and draw engines.
