Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mardu Aikido control list commanded by Queen Marchesa. The strategy avoids direct early confrontation, instead establishing defensive fortifications using cards like Ghostly Prison, Sphere of Safety, and Authority of the Consuls while introducing the Monarch mechanic to guarantee steady card advantage. Through potent forced-combat tools such as Disrupt Decorum, Kardur, Doomscourge, and Taunt from the Rampart, the deck coerces opponents into eliminating one another. When targeted by large alpha strikes, the pilot turns opposing aggression into game-ending blowouts using signature aikido spells like Inkshield, Deflecting Palm, and Comeuppance. Sunforger acts as a versatile toolbox, fetching answers, redirects, or protection spells on demand. Once opponents have battered each other into critical life totals, asymmetrical board breakers like Ruinous Ultimatum and damage multipliers like Gisela, Blade of Goldnight allow Marchesa to sweep in and claim decisive victory.
