Deck overview

This Mardu deck harnesses the synergy between The War Doctor and exile mechanics to convert zone transitions into direct burn damage. Partnering with Clara Oswald provides access to black removal and doubles the Doctor's abilities. The strategy rapidly stacks time counters on The War Doctor using cascade, discover, blink spells, and impulse draw cards like Prosper, Tome-Bound and Possibility Storm. Once assembled, the Doctor attacks to fire massive burn payloads directly at opponents or their key permanents, magnified by damage enhancers like Fiery Emancipation and attack-trigger doublers like Isshin, Two Heavens as One. While the deck commands exceptional targeted removal and bursts of damage, its lack of mana ramp and stack interaction makes it susceptible to early disruption. Blinking the commander also removes all built-up time counters, requiring careful timing.
