Format: Commander

Commander: Honest Rutstein

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Golgari self-mill value deck centered on Honest Rutstein, who returns a creature on entry and discounts every creature spell. Old Rutstein effectively acts as a hidden commander: it mills every upkeep and turns those mills into Insects, Treasures, or Blood tokens. The primary plan is to fill the graveyard, use Rise of the Varmints to create a horde of tokens, and close with Overwhelming Stampede; Warlock Class provides a slow drain backup. Reanimation (Reanimate, Animate Dead, Shigeki) and graveyard-casting (Kagha) allow recycling small value creatures. No infinite combo is built in, so the wins come from accumulated token pressure rather than a one-card kill.
