Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Abzan Aristocrats combo build piloted by Ghave, Guru of Spores. The strategy uses low-cost mana dorks and land ramp to accelerate Ghave onto the battlefield ahead of curve, establishing a self-fueling token engine. Ghave pairs with sacrifice altars such as Ashnod's Altar and counter-distributing permanents such as Ivy Lane Denizen, Rosie Cotton of South Lane, and Cathars' Crusade to generate infinite mana, infinite tokens, and infinite death triggers. Opponents are eliminated on the spot using drain pieces like Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Bastion of Remembrance. In addition to the primary Ghave loops, the deck includes a compact two-card backup win condition in Heliod, Sun-Crowned and Walking Ballista, supported by a suite of creature and enchantment tutors. While the deck boasts high redundancy and rapid win turns, its heavy reliance on multi-permanent board states leaves it exposed to well-timed spot removal.
