Deck overview

This deck is a classic Dimir flash-tempo control build commanded by Talion, the Kindly Lord. The game plan revolves around resolving Talion on Turn 4 (naming 2 in most Commander pods to capture ubiquitous utility spells, mana rocks, and small creatures), establishing a reliable stream of card advantage and life attrition. Supported by instant-speed Faerie generators such as Alela, Cunning Conqueror, the deck plays entirely on opponents' turns using a rich suite of counterspells and spot removal. As the game transitions into the middle and late stages, token swarms are augmented by anthem lords like Scion of Oona and Glen Elendra Liege, or converted into lethal threats via Shadow Puppeteers and an extra-turn alpha strike from Notorious Throng. While vulnerable to mass board sweepers and devoid of compact infinite combos, its dense interaction package and steady card flow allow it to control the tempo of the table and close games through evasive combat.
