Deck overview

This mono-black control deck uses an aristocrats engine and creature-focused disruption to drain opposing life totals while controlling the board. With Massacre Girl available in the command zone, the deck possesses an accessible board wipe that bypasses indestructible creatures through cascading -1/-1 triggers. In the early turns, the deck deploys recursive creatures like Bloodghast, Gravecrawler, and Nether Traitor alongside token generators such as Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia and Blight Mound. It converts these bodies into card advantage through Skullclamp and Smothering Abomination, and converts deaths into life swings with Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Vengeful Bloodwitch. As the game progresses, asymmetric attrition pieces like Court of Ambition and Witch of the Moors strip opposing resources. The deck closes games around Turn 8 through accumulated drain triggers, a massive Exsanguinate, or high-impact finishers like Bolas's Citadel and Rise of the Dark Realms.
