Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages Tergrid, God of Fright to transform symmetric discard and sacrifice effects into overwhelming asymmetric board advantage. The primary strategy accelerates into Tergrid on Turn 4 or 5 using rituals and mana rocks, immediately following up with global hand-stripping spells like Syphon Mind, Mindslicer, or Smallpox. Opponents lose their resources while Tergrid places every discarded or sacrificed permanent onto your battlefield. Persistent stax pieces such as Oppression and Braids, Cabal Minion lock opponents out of developing while stolen creature armies, Syr Konrad, the Grim life loss, and Massacre Wurm close the game around Turn 8. Even if Tergrid is answered, redundant high-impact finishers like Rise of the Dark Realms and Aclazotz, Deepest Betrayal maintain severe table pressure.
