Deck overview

This is a mono-black life-drain and search-punishment deck helmed by Ob Nixilis, Unshackled. The core plan weaponizes library searches: once Ob is online, every opposing tutor, fetch, or forced search costs a creature and 10 life. Redundant engines Maralen of the Mornsong and Mornsong Aria (plus Opposition Agent) lock the table into mandatory searches while denying normal draws, turning Ob's trigger into a repeating table-wide execution. Parallel win paths are classic black drain-Exsanguinate, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Archfiend of Despair, and Bloodletter of Aclazotz-fueled by Cabal Coffers, Nirkana Revenant, and ritual mana. Dense tutors and premium draw (Necropotence, Bolas's Citadel, The One Ring) glue the package together. The deck plays as midrange value that suddenly becomes lethal the moment a search lock or oversized drain resolves.
