Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Lifedrain Combo-Control strategy commanded by Verrak, Warped Sengir. The deck turns your life total into a primary resource, using Verrak's ability to duplicate non-mana activated abilities that require paying life. This allows draw engines like Greed, Arguel's Blood Fast, Erebos, God of the Dead, and Doom Whisperer to dig through your library at double speed. The deck accelerates using low-cost mana rocks, Treasures, and fetchlands doubled by Verrak. It controls the board with efficient spot removal and targeted counterspells while draining opponents with incremental life taxes. Once sufficient cards are drawn, the deck closes the game via an infinite life-drain loop using Exquisite Blood combined with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Enduring Tenacity, or Sanguine Bond. Alternative game-ending paths include storming through the library with Bolas's Citadel and Aetherflux Reservoir or equalizing life totals with Repay in Kind and Mister Negative.
