Army of One by DoomsDay

Format: Commander

Commander: Sergeant John Benton

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a high-speed, commander-centric voltron build built around **Sergeant John Benton**, a 2/4 with trample and haste that turns every combat hit into a massive card draw for both you and the opponent. The entire strategy is to deploy John early-ideally turn 2 or 3-then protect him with a dense suite of cheap protection spells while layering on pump effects to push commander damage through. The deck carries no infinite combos, no tutors, and very little recursion; it relies entirely on the commander s raw card advantage to fuel its own hand and find the next pump or protection spell. Wins come almost exclusively via commander damage, often on a single massive swing after accumulating a critical mass of +X/+X effects (e.g., **Become Immense**, **Phytoburst**, **Tifa's Limit Break**). The deck also runs five symmetrical board wipes to clear the way when opponents build up blockers, though these are used sparingly because they set back its own creature count.
