Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain control strategy helmed by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel. It combines early pillowfort taxes and incidental lifegain triggers to establish defensive stability while ramping toward its 6-mana commander. Once Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel enters the battlefield, any lifegain trigger can be converted into massive card advantage by paying life equal to the amount gained. The deck leverages this flow to draw into decisive finishers such as Felidar Sovereign, Approach of the Second Sun, Aetherflux Reservoir, or Psychosis Crawler. It also features an infinite life combo using Famished Paladin and Resplendent Mentor. Layered tax effects like Blind Obedience and Ghostly Prison stall opponent attacks while the deck prepares its win on Turn 7.
