An Unexpected Party by TsulKalu

Format: Commander

Commander: Gandalf, Party Guest

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Jeskai Dwarf-tribal value deck helmed by Gandalf, Party Guest, whose combat-step free-cast of an instant or sorcery is a bonus engine rather than the deck's true identity. The core plan is to develop a board of Dwarves, trigger the Storied condition (three or more artifacts, legendaries, and/or Sagas), suit up with a dense Equipment suite, and win through combat damage amplified by anthems like Fili the Pathfinder, The Arkenstone, and An Unexpected Party // At the Door. Balin, Loremaster provides a burst-draw-and-burn finisher, while Gandalf, Goblins' Bane // Flameshape and Wizard's Staff form a pinging sub-engine. Notably, only the two non-commander Gandalfs are legendary Wizards, so the commander's scaling ability rarely exceeds X = 4. The deck is a midrange beatdown build with no infinite combos, relying on incremental value and combat inevitability.
