Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan combat aggro strategy built around Doran, Besieged by Time. The plan centers on deploying efficient, high-toughness creatures such as Disowned Ancestor, Great Forest Druid, and Unhallowed Phalanx. Once Doran enters the battlefield, he reduces the casting costs of high-toughness creatures and triggers during combat to pump attackers by the difference between their toughness and power. This turns defensive walls and cheap creatures into massive offensive threats that deal heavy combat damage starting on Turn 5. The deck supports this aggressive clock with asymmetric sweepers like Slaughter the Strong and Expel the Interlopers, which clear opposing threats while leaving your low-power creatures unharmed. Backed by Meekstone to freeze opposing large attackers and redundant toughness enablers like Assault Formation and Ancient Lumberknot, the deck systematically eliminates opponents over multi-turn combat rotations.
