Format: Commander

Commander: Braids, Conjurer Adept

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Braids, Conjurer Adept turns every upkeep into an explosive cheat-into-play trigger. The primary plan is to land Braids by turn two or three using fast mana, then feed her trigger with huge colorless threats-Blightsteel Colossus, Ulamog, and Kozilek-a turn before they could be hard-cast. Secondary angles include Show and Tell and Gate to the Aether as extra ways to cheat, plus a controlling backup plan that deploys Void Winnower, Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, or It That Betrays and wins through annihilation combat. The closest thing to a hidden commander is Sakashima of a Thousand Faces, which copies Braids and, with clones like Spark Double, multiplies the free-permanent triggers while staying legal thanks to the legend-rule exemption.
