Athreos by Slightlybitterginger

Format: Commander

Commander: Athreos, God of Passage

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a midrange Orzhov aristocrats deck built around lifegain, death triggers, and recursive value. Athreos, God of Passage is the engine: every creature that dies either returns to hand or costs an opponent 3 life, which synergizes with drain outlets like Blood Artist, Cruel Celebrant, and Elas il-Kor. The deck can win through incremental attrition or with an infinite drain combo using Sanguine Bond plus Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror, and it has X-spell finishers as backup. Reanimation effects and repeated recursion make the deck resilient, while the graveyard is both a resource and a liability. The commander is strong but not strictly required; the deck can pivot to combo or big-mana drains without it.
