Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger deck commanded by Alania, Divergent Storm. The strategy centers on generating high mana velocity and massive card advantage by duplicating the first instant, sorcery, and Otter spell cast each turn. Early turns focus on establishing mana rocks and cost reducers like Stormcatch Mentor and Artist's Talent. Mid-game sequencing deploys Alania, Divergent Storm or complementary engines such as Storm-Kiln Artist and Veyran, Voice of Duality, turning cheap cantrips into deep card advantage. The deck pivots into a decisive win on Turn 6 by chaining high-output rituals like Mana Geyser or Turnabout into lethal multikicked burn spells such as Comet Storm, or multiplying an exponential army of hasty Stormsplitter copies. Interaction consists of versatile counterspells, spell copying, and one-sided artifact and board wipes.
