Deck overview

This deck is a Jund attrition strategy built around Auntie Ool, Cursewretch and -1/-1 counter synergies. It leverages the Blight mechanic and wither sources to shrink opposing creatures while drawing cards whenever counters are placed on your own board. Key payoff engines like Nest of Scarabs, Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, and Flourishing Defenses convert counter distribution into large armies of deathtouch Snakes and Insects. Life drain engines like Obelisk Spider, Impact Tremors, and Lasting Tarfire whittle down opposing life totals as creatures enter or receive counters. Opposing aggression is locked out with Kulrath Knight and mass wither effects from Carnifex Demon and Massacre Girl, Known Killer. The deck grinds out opponents through card advantage, repeatable removal, and wide combat swings.
