Deck overview

This Simic control deck is built around Gor Muldrak, Amphinologist and the political weaponization of creature types. By granting you and your permanents protection from Salamanders, Gor Muldrak safely gifts 4/3 Salamander Warrior tokens to players with the fewest creatures. While opponents are forced to direct their Salamanders at one another, you duplicate Gor Muldrak using nonlegendary clone effects like Spark Double, Sakashima of a Thousand Faces, and Irenicus's Vile Duplication. This floods the table with tokens while triggering immense card advantage engines like Garruk's Uprising and Elemental Bond. Creature-type manipulators such as Standardize and Unnatural Selection allow you to turn opposing threats into Salamanders to blank incoming damage, while theft spells like Peer Pressure let you seize control of the entire board. The deck closes games around Turn 8 through unblockable combat damage and overrun effects.
