Deck overview

This deck utilizes Codie, Ravenous Codex to double every spell cast from a prepared creature. By combining inexpensive prepare creatures with Codie's triggered copy ability, the deck achieves massive resource velocity, turning single-mana prepare spells into doubled card draw, ramp, and tutoring. The midgame converts this acceleration into lethal table-wide pressure using Magecraft and burn engines like Professor Onyx, Black Waltz No. 3, and Storm-Kiln Artist. With access to all five colors, the deck fixes its mana through specialized lands, Heartwood tokens, and Treasure generators. When Codie is unavailable, secondary engines like Prismari, the Inspiration grant storm to all instants and sorceries, ensuring robust fallback paths. The deck closes games quickly once an engine sticks, typically by chaining doubled rituals into a lethal Exsanguinate or overwhelming Magecraft life drain.
