Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos treasure-hoard burn deck built around Smaug the Impenetrable's unique self-damage engine. The commander's indestructibility and haste turn it into both a resilient 8/7 flying beater and a treasure factory: the deck damages Smaug with burn spells and board wipes that it survives, banking a massive hoard of Treasure tokens, then converts that mana into game-ending X-spells, commander damage, or table-wide drain. Genji Glove on Smaug represents a genuine one-turn commander-damage kill (double strike plus an extra combat). Secondary payoffs like Smaug the Magnificent, Mirkwood Bats, Mayhem Devil, and Exocrine convert the treasure engine into direct damage. The deck is a linear, synergy-driven pile that funnels self-burn into explosive burn turns.
