Deck overview

This Golgari deck is a tribal midrange strategy focused on Shelob, Child of Ungoliant. The early game focuses on deploying reach and deathtouch Spiders to establish an impenetrable defensive perimeter against attacking creatures. Around turn 6, Shelob enters to transform all friendly Spiders into lethal deathtouch threats with ward 2 protection, generating Food copies of opposing creatures that die in combat. The deck uses heavy hand discard and niche tax pieces like Desolation to deplete opponent resources while building board presence. It finishes opponents through wide combat attacks, unblockable swings using Predatory Focus, or direct life drain from Ishkanah, Grafwidow and Rotwidow Pack. While resilient in creature combat, the deck suffers from low card velocity, minimal ramp, and an absence of sweeper protection, leading to an extended clock.
