Deck overview

This Orzhov deck is commanded by Kambal, Consul of Allocation and focuses on proactive resource denial, pillowfort defense, and compounding life-drain attrition. It establishes early board control through multi-axis stax pieces including Drannith Magistrate, Clarion Conqueror, Blind Obedience, and Leonin Arbiter, severely constraining opposing mana efficiency and activation speed. Once opponents are constrained, it deploys asymmetric punisher engines such as Painful Quandary, Court of Ambition, Smothering Tithe, and Archfiend of Despair to tax every game action and rapidly deplete life totals. The deck protects its life buffer with combat deterrents like Ghostly Prison, Sphere of Safety, and Crawlspace while gaining steady life. It achieves victory without infinite combos, grinding down all three opponents through noncreature life-tax triggers, combat chip damage, and end-step life loss.
