Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Mono-Black Reanimator Stax list designed to assemble oppressive locks and rapid reanimation lines. Powered by dense fast mana acceleration like Dark Ritual, Mana Vault, and Chrome Mox, the deck consistently establishes an operational engine by Turn 3. It utilizes premier tutors such as Entomb, Demonic Tutor, and Vampiric Tutor to place massive threats like Razaketh, the Foulblooded and Vilis, Broker of Blood directly into the graveyard before reviving them with Reanimate or Animate Dead. Alongside explosive reanimation, the deck deploys crippling stax pieces including Contamination, Nether Void, and Chains of Mephistopheles to choke opposing mana bases and card draw. Parity is broken through token engines like Bitterblossom and Ophiomancer, or through commander Tergrid, God of Fright, which steals sacrificed permanents. The deck seals victory on Turn 4 via compact combo lines such as Doctor Doom, Unrivaled paired with Demonic Consultation or Painter's Servant with Grindstone.
