Deck overview

The deck develops a wide Squirrel board through Chatterfang, Squirrel General, token makers, and token doublers such as Doubling Season and Parallel Lives. Its strongest ordinary creature engine is Deep Forest Hermit, which creates eight Squirrels when Chatterfang, Squirrel General is present. The deck then converts that board into combat pressure with Beastmaster Ascension, Squirrel Sovereign, Chitterspitter, Craterhoof Behemoth, or The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. Sacrifice payoffs including Blood Artist, Mirkwood Bats, Nadier's Nightblade, and Zulaport Cutthroat provide reach and punish sweepers. Ramp is solid but mostly fair, and the deck has only a small removal package and one major protection spell. Its ordinary plan assembles around turn 6, creates a must-answer attack around turn 8, and needs later combat steps to finish. The three-card Earthcraft line is powerful when found but is not the deck's ordinary two-card combo plan.
