Deck overview

This monoblack deck, helmed by Ayara, First of Locthwain, is a relentless drain-and-sacrifice engine built around devotion to black and token generation. The primary game plan is to create a steady stream of black creatures via enchantments like Bitterblossom and Dreadhorde Invasion, sacrificers like Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder and Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, then leverage Ayara's ETB drain and her activated draw ability to grind out card advantage. The deck finishes through infinite combos (Chain of Smog + Sedgemoor Witch + a token-drain payoff such as Mirkwood Bats), massive devotion swings from Gray Merchant of Asphodel, or a game-ending Exsanguinate powered by Cabal Coffers. Recursion via Whip of Erebos, The Soul Stone, and Virtue of Persistence ensures the engine keeps running through disruption.
