Deck overview

This is an Azorius prison deck centered on the commander-accessible Lavinia, Azorius Renegade and the six-mana Knowledge Pool. The primary plan is to deploy Lavinia, Azorius Renegade, find Knowledge Pool, and use the pair to counter opponents' free replacement casts. The deck supports that plan with artifact and enchantment tutors, moderate ramp, countermagic, removal, and additional taxes such as Archon of Emeria, Back to Basics, and Winter Moon. Its main strength is asymmetric spell denial once the two-card lock is active. Its main weakness is timing: ordinary assembly is around turn 7, and the lock does not remove existing permanents or activated abilities. The post-lock win is also slow. Luminarch Ascension, Myrel, Shield of Argive, Monastery Mentor, and Cathars' Crusade can convert the protected game into pressure, but they require additional turns and mana. The deck is therefore a strong casual-to-high-power prison strategy, not a competitive fast-combo deck.
